Changes to the Smurf Shop

We’ve added a new feature to the Smurf Shop yesterday. You can now toggle between displaying ALL items or just those in stock.

When you are in one of the shop pages you will see above the product listings it says: -

Here are our products (Show Items in Stock Only):

Click the Show items in stock only section and it will change the view so that you only see the smurf products available to order and not the complete id guide.

More changes are going to be made to the shop soon.

Dupuis Smurfs

One of the latest additions to our Smurf website is a page about the history of Dupuis Smurfs, the text is kindly supplied by Fram, a moderator on the Blue Cavern forum. Dupuis created the first collectible smurf figures in 1959. The Smurfs made by Schleich, the ones which are still available as new products today, only arrived in 1965, six years later!

Dupuis was the editor of the Smurf comics and the Spirou magazine, where the stories of Johan and Peewit and of the Smurfs first appeared.

If you wish to find out more about Belgian Comic Strip history then The Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Art can be found in Brussels, and is well worth a visit for fans of Belgian comic strip heroes. Here you can learn about production techniques and see antique cartoon strips of many recognisable characters such as TinTin, Lucky Luke, Spirou, The Smurfs and many more.

Planned Changes to our Smurf Shop website

We are planning some changes to the Smurf Shop website in the near future to make our site easier for customers to use.
We will be changing the display so that customers can just look at “in stock” items rather than having to wade through items that are no longer in stock.
We will also be adding a link so that customers can just check newly added items, again to try and save customer’s time in searching through all of the smurfs.
We wanted to share these plans with our customers so that they realise we are aware that the “shopping for smurfs” experience could be improved and we are working on it!
