We’ve updated our guide to buying smurfs on eBay to include details about the recent fakes appearing on the market. We’ve also highlighted other problem areas where people are trying to sell custom smurfs saying they are originals!
Other smurfs mentioned are the fake Easter Smurfs from Hong Kong, fake raw smurfs and also the homemade raw smurfs that are now flooding the market.
If you buy a smurf knowing that it has been customised then that is fair enough, but many people are being caught out thinking that they are investing in an expensive, original item which they see as an investment for the future. Will they be so happy when they come to sell it and find it is worth next to nothing?
The market is becoming flooded with huge lots of new fake smurfs which are being sold as originals. If you are buying smurfs on eBay and the picture is of a massive jumbled lot of smurfs then think about this.. If you were selling something then wouldn’t you take the best possible picture that you could in order to secure the best price? There is a reason why sellers are only displaying the smurfs in this way, it is so people can’t see them clearly and won’t spot that something isn’t quite right with the smurfs!
Always keep in mind the old saying… “If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is…”
