What this site is
Kitty’s Cavern is a collector’s identification and value guide for Smurf figures: the small PVC Smurfs made by Schleich, Bully and their licensees since the 1960s, together with the houses, playsets and promotional pieces that go with them. It exists to answer three questions in order. Which figure is this? Which version of it is this? What have examples like it actually sold for?

The guides are written for people with a shoebox of figures and no idea what is in it, and for collectors who want sold evidence rather than a number someone remembered from a forum. Nothing here is for sale. The site does not buy, sell or value figures on request.
The history of this address
Kitty’s Cavern began in 2003 as a Smurf shop in the United Kingdom, and after the shop closed the name lived on as a Smurf identification guide until about 2015. The domain then passed through other hands and carried content that had nothing to do with Smurfs. It was registered again in 2026 and this site was built from scratch. No text, photographs or price data from the old shop or guide have been reused, and the present site has no connection with the people who ran them. The name was kept because collectors still remember it, not because the new guide inherits their experience.
How the guide is built
Every figure entry starts with a real figure in hand, and every value starts with a real sale. Three kinds of evidence are used.

- Photographs. The front of the figure and the stamp under its feet, photographed from a figure we own or have been given permission to publish. Catalog images and photographs from other sites are not used.
- Foot stamps. The lettering under the feet is recorded exactly as it appears: maker, country, year and mold number. The year is treated as the date the mold was cut, not the date the figure was made.
- Dated sold prices. Ranges come from completed sales with a listing address, a date and an amount for each, in US dollars and British pounds kept separate. The price method page sets out the rules.
Where a fact could not be checked against a published reference, a figure in hand or a recorded sale, it is left out or marked as a collector report. The guides say plainly when a section is still being prepared.
Independence
Kitty’s Cavern is an independent reference. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to IMPS, Peyo, Schleich or any retailer, auction house or marketplace. Smurf names, characters and artwork belong to their respective rights holders and are used here only to identify the figures. No affiliate links are active. If that changes, the affiliate disclosure will say so before the first link appears.
Found a mistake?

Corrections are welcome and taken seriously, because a wrong stamp reading or a mislabeled variant misleads everyone who reads it next. If you spot an error, use the contact page and include the page address, what you believe is wrong and the evidence: a photograph of the stamp, a catalog reference or a link to the sale. Confirmed corrections are made on the page and its reviewed date is updated.
