Kitty’s Cavern collects as little as a website can while still knowing whether anyone reads it. This page says what is collected, by whom and why. It was last updated on November 4, 2026.
Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. The Google tag loads on every page. When it loads, it sets two first-party cookies on kittyscavern.com: _ga, which holds a random identifier that lets Google Analytics tell one visitor from another, and _ga_QLXVENZYZF, which keeps track of the current visit. They can remain in your browser for up to two years unless you delete them.
Google Analytics receives the pages you view, the time of the visit, the page you came from, your browser and device type and your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The data is used to see which guides are read and where readers arrive from. It is not used for advertising, is not shared with anyone else and is not combined with any other data about you, because the site holds no other data about you. How Google processes this data is covered by the Google privacy policy.
There is no cookie banner on this site. If you would rather not be counted, block cookies for kittyscavern.com in your browser, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.
Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel’s servers record requests as they serve pages. A request log can include your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser’s identifying string. These logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are held by Vercel under its own retention rules. Kitty’s Cavern adds no logging of its own.
What the site does not do
- There are no accounts, logins or user profiles.
- There is no newsletter and no mailing list.
- There are no forms. The character search and filters run entirely in your browser and send nothing to a server.
- There are no advertising scripts, and no affiliate links or affiliate tracking are active. If affiliate links are added, this page and the affiliate disclosure will be updated before they go live.
- No data is sold or shared with anyone.

If you write in through the contact page, your email address and whatever you send are kept only for as long as needed to deal with the message, and are not added to any list. Photographs you contribute are used only as agreed with you.
Your rights and how to ask
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Because the site holds nothing beyond the analytics data that Google processes and any email you have sent, such requests are usually simple. Use the contact page. Requests are handled personally and without charge.
Changes
This page is updated whenever the analytics, hosting or contact setup changes. The date at the top says when it was last revised.
